The Jewish home and community
Students become familiar with basic Jewish objects found at home and in the synagogue, as well as the reasons and uses for each. They are also introduced to “Jewish professions”, such as rabbi, shochet, mohel, sofer, and taught to appreciate the importance of each. In addition, visits to the Ohel David Jewish nursing home before all holidays adds joy and a sense of community for both the children and the residents, and is a source of excitement for all involved!
